Did St Paul make contradictions in Scripture?

So Paul believed because he was in that generation? 🤷

Jesus called that generation wicked. And Paul showed his faith through courage and fearless opposition to status quo.
Hi!

…actually… yes!

…as time progressed man has became more and more openly hostile to God (the Catholic Church, in particular).

…I remember as a child the news seldom reported a crime against a Catholic Church, Priest, Nun, or Religious… even in the most secular centers there was a respect for God and things related to God… a crime/assault against the Church or her religious members would only happen in the worst places in the world… and when they did it would be held as an appalling and specially wicked deed.

…the fight against God (removal of Prayer and other Catholic/Christian values from society) gave raise to the occasional assault (including rape of a Nun and desecration of local parishes and the Altars [clearly, I’m speaking of contemporary history not about the history of anti-Catholicism persecutions ushered in by Protestants non-Christians of the Church’s past]–cultural changes around the world that continued to escalate); the eighties and nineties ushered in the “hate God, hate the Catholic Church” congruence mentality where even those who telecast/announced the news seem to take pleasure in the incident–as if “score one for…”

Today’s anti-God culture would cling to anything rather than give up its “right to choose,” …well, the choice of anything but God!

Ok no takers? I’ll throw in another one. 😉

1 Cor. 1.
Was Paul crucified for you?

Philippians 2
holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. Even if I am to be poured as a libation upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

Colossians 1
Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church

Hi, RC!

…you are comparing distinct teachings…

In 1 Corinthians St. Paul is admonishing the Believers for allowing dissention to enter into the Fold! He makes it quite clear that it is Christ Jesus that provides us with Justification and Salvation… that no other is our means of Salvation. Christ Alone Saves. Dividing the Body of Christ is nonsense… favoritism and division must stop!

In Philippians 2 he is actually congratulating the Fellowship of the Believers and he counts himself as Blessed for assisting them in their initiation and maturation in the Faith.

In Colossians 1 St. Paul is addressing the issue of the our function in the Faith and in the Church… Christ Sacrifice is One for All Times… but as Christ’s Call is not to simply claim Him as our Lord but to Serve His Body, our Lives are to be used… that is, offered up to God for the edification of the Church, which is the Body of Christ… so our suffering, as well as our victories and good fortunes, must be offered up to the Father in Christ’s Jesus… St. Paul is actually fortifying the Believers in their trek… assuring them that their efforts are not in vain… that they are in deed beneficial to God’s Salvific Plan by adding to Christ’s Offering our meager existence.

We have three different exhortations… each delivering a distinct admonition.

1 Corinthians 5:12
For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?

Romans 14:13
Then let us no more pass judgment on one another, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.

1 Corinthians 4
I do not even judge myself. I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes
