Did the Church close the canon of Scripture?

I was recently reading the Council of Trent on the Canon of Scripture and it seems to me that the Church validated the canon in the Vulgate but did not condemn or invalidate any other canon of Scripture in Christendom.

For instance, the Orthodox Canon is different than that which we use. But, taking the Council of Trent literally, it is not invalidated by their decree.

The only thing condemned by the Council of Trent seems to be, the idea that the canon of the Vulgate is invalid.

Read it yourself and let me know what you think:

Note: I asked this question back in 2012. I was wondering what people think today.

This was actually brought up on CAL within the last month or two, and I agree (mostly) with their answer - no. The canon was established, as you pointed out, in terms of what texts should be considered scripture, but there was never anything stated by any council that it was complete or permanent. New texts could be added (not removed, though) if they met certain criteria.
