I’ve seen no science in the Qur’an. I’ve only seen incredibly vague passages which if teased and tortured enough by a 21st century commentator can be fallaciously strung together with 21st century science in a post hoc manner.
If there are any genuine “miracles of the Qur’an” (or any religious scripture for that matter), then I expect the verses to stand on their own and to be obvious.
If the Qur’an seems to mention the expansion of space, I expect it to say something along the lines of “The sum total of energy existed in a singularity, infinitessimally small after which space-time expanded allowing for the coalescence of matter” Compare that with:
[al-Anbiya’ 21:30] “Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them”.
With regard to embryology, I’d expect mention of the development of dermal tissue as ectoderm, endoderm, and mesoderm, and the associated stages of blastulation and gastrulation with the (name removed by moderator)ocketing of those tissues and the formation of the digestive tract orifices, not:
[AL-MUMENOON 23: 12-14] “Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators!”
Not only are these not convincing, but many of the supposed evidences for scientific foresight are factually incorrect. Bone does not precede the formation of flesh, as the preceding passage mentions. The Earth is not flat and mountains are not static, unlike what it says in Sura Al-Hijr 15:19 or in Sura An-Naml 27:61, and neither is the Earth fixed in space.
