Hi all!

I know that Islam teaches that we Jews & Christians have either outright falsified, or badly garbled, parts of the Tanakh (what we call what Christians call the “Old Testament”) and the Gospels. This isn’t new to me. However, I was still interested to see the extent to which some Muslims will go to deny/dispute what is in the Tanakh and the Gospels and what we Jews and Christians accept as a given. This haaretz.com/hasen/spages/650192.html (or tinyurl.com/d9wa5) was in last Friday’s Ha’aretz newspaper.

Be well!

“Excavations proved that the Jewish temple had been totally ruined thousands of years ago. This was clearly cited in the relevant Jewish references. Dr. Cathleen Cab(name removed by moderator)us, Director of Excavations in the Jerusalem-based School for Monuments, affirmed that there was no trace of the Temple of Solomon.”

The Kingdom of Prophet Solomon pbuh did exist, no muslim can deny that but it wasn’t meant to stay. All the excavations done to find the Temple of Solomon pbuh proves what the Qur’an stated 1400+ years ago, the Qur’an says that Solomon pbuh asked Allah (swt) to give him a kingdom that shall not belong to anyone after him. And Allah (swt) granted him the kingdom and gave him power over the Jinn, and they built for him the temples and monuments but after his death everything disappeared.

Surah saad chapter 38 verses 35-40:

"He said: “My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower”; So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed, And also the Shayâtin (devils) from the jinns (including) every kind of builder and diver, And also others bound in fetters; [Saying of Allâh to Sulaimân (Solomon)]: “This is Our gift, so spend you or withhold, no account will be asked”; And verily, he enjoyed a near access to Us, and a good final return (Paradise). "

They don’t have the wisdom any longer to recognize the the truth. The muslims have been taught hatred so long that their eye are blinded. If some of the muslims state the truth they have it beaten out of them.
Before and during the Second World War their leaders were great friends with Adolf Hitler. So nationalism has not been converted to islamism. Proganda is accepted as truth and it is very dangerous for the world.
The wailing wall of the Temple is still standing. So how could a wall be standing and there have never been a temple? There is history from 70 ad that still exist is that all lies as well?

The Temple Mount and the Wailing Wall reflects the Second Temple and Harod’s additions to it. Someday we will find evidence of Solomon’s temple but I don’t believe we have yet. The interpretaion of the Qur’an that has been offered may be faulty.

While this is a subject of some disagreement, it’s impossible to make a definitive statement on it. Archeology isn’t as precise a science as some believe it to be – “Conclusions” are constantly shifting as new artifacts are uncovered or re-evaluated. The most one can say is “it is traditionally believed to be a wall from Solomon’s Temple, but that has been disputed.” That doesn’t mean it is or it isn’t, it just means no one’s found a sign that says “This wall was part of Solomon’s Temple” – or the opposite equivalent.

In the face of a lack of clear documented evidence, I personally would err on the side of well established tradition.
