**As for Philomena, her cultus was forbidden in 1961 by one of the Roman Congregations, but has continued regardless - why or how, I don’t know. The shrine at Mugnano was meant to be dismantled, but is still going. The account of her said to have been related by her in a vision is wholly untrustworthy:
It claims she was a Greek princess, but if she was, she should have known that “Philomena” is not to be taken as meaning “filia luminis”, “daughter of light” (as the vision claimed), but as “philoumene”, “beloved”.
At the time of her alleged martyrdom under Diocletian - whose persecution, which lasted from 303 to 304, was almost entirely confined to the East (he did not rule from Rome, but in Nicomedia, in the north-east of what is now Turkey) - Greece had long been under Roman rule, without kings of any sort. There were no Greek kings anywhere by that time.
Hope this helps ## **
The above, unfortunately, is UTTERLY FALSE. Philomena’s FEASTS were removed from all Liturgical calendars by Vatican Decree, and that is ALL. The Shrine at Mugnano was NOT supposed to be Dismantled, nor was it. Priestly caretakers were always assigned to the Mugnano Shrine, under FULL church approbation and authority. Her cultus is not based on the private visions of her life, but on the undeniable THOUSANDS of miracles directly attributable to her intercession. The body in her tomb has been PROVEN now to be that of “Philomena,” and Marucci’s theories to the contrary have been COMPLETELY and UTTERLY discredited. Mark Miravalle, among others, has written extensively on the Philomena controversies, proving beyond all possibility of legitimate doubt, that she most defintely was and is REAL, that her dried blood DOES turn into jewels to this day, and much much much more. Moreover, she was given an infallible EQUIVALENT CANONIZATION by Pope Gregory in 1837 and therefore she can NEVER be legitimately
De-Canonized, not ever, not under any circumstances whatsoever, not by ANYONE.

IT IS TIME TO MEET SAINT PHILOMENA. All doubts about her existence and tremendous heavenly power will be forever and irrefutably dispelled.
Long live Saint Philomena, Virgin and Martyr of the Early Church.
God love you all.
