Acts 2:17-18 has Peter explaining the speaking in tongues by citing Joel’s prophecy that “your sons and daughters shall prophesy” and “on my menservants and my maidservants in those days I will pour out my Spirit”.
Didn’t see anything from Haydock. And maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see a discussion of Acts from the Aquinas Commentary.
The only women around from Acts 1:14 were Mary and “the women.”
However, when I read that the Holy Spirit came “on each one of them” (Acts 2:3), the “them” seems to reflect back to just the apostles (Acts 1:26), which of course is the way I understand it.
But my question is, what of Joel’s foretelling that women would also prophecy?
