Did you, or are you going to watch the Emmy’s, why or why not?

I don’t watch TV. I voted “other”.

I voted other because there was no option for “No, because it is a waste of time.” I’ve got the time to watch it, but the same shows win every single year. Who cares!

I watched about 30 minutes then turned it off. Very boring and grew tired of there snide political remarks. They should just stick to acting. If they don’t…off goes the TV.

Another “other” because it’s a no, not due to lack of time, but due to complete lack of interest in awards shows (I don’t watch the Oscars or any of the others, either).

I just heard on Drudge that they did make some political comments. I just can’t deal with it, so I avoid it. I don’t take too kindly to movie stars making political comments, when I am very aware of the sacrifices our military is making. My daughter has just returned from her first deployment to the Middle East. I really have no time for T.V anymore. I am ruined for life! Or should I say, I will find more interesting things to do.

I am not interested because of their over blown egos and potitical statements…

When “King of Queens” ever gets recognized I’ll resume watching…at least the insipid Sex in the City has now FINALLY run its miserable course of ever being nominated for anything again.

I didn’t have time to watch, and even if I did, I don’t have the attention span to sit through something that boring. 😛

No we won’t be watching. We used to really enjoy all the award shows. But they seem to be going from entertainment value to shock value and I want to be entertained.

Besides I have two school age sons and a small apartment. You just can’t ever tell what body part might be hanging out or what explitive might be uttered (bleeping only leads to guessing what the word was). I can’t spend the whole evening with my trigger finger on the remote. Since this is an election year, it will/was probably worse.

Well, I didn’t watch them simply because I wasn’t home and they were over by the time I got there. Oh well. There was really only one thing I was looking for…JAMES GANDOLFINI! He didn’t win best actor in a drama series like he has in the past, but the show did win best drama for the first time since it began. I’m sure you all wanted to know that. 🙂 hehehe I know I know, it’s a show about the mafia…but I just love the pychological issues in it! (I’m a psych major in college) But other than that particular show, I’m not addicted to anything else and I agree about the politics in hollywood. They are simply going way too far with this upcoming election! I just hope the american people stick with their guns and vote because of the ISSUES, not because their favorite movie star votes a certain way. We need more Christian entertainers!!! :dancing:

I don’t like that Emmy’s are considered so important and make demigods of people that are usually morally bankrupt.

Who knows maybe these actors are suffering from borderline personality disorder or narcissicism and we can help them by not encouraging their shallow lives of exterior beauty and little interior beauty.:hmmm:

Interesting perspective, 🙂

Another “other” voter here:
  1. Not interested
  2. Don’t take political advice from people who make a career out of pretending to be other people - I don’t see their qualifications!
  3. Don’t watch “entertainment” programming on the networks and wouldn’t spend money for channels like HBO, Showtime, et al.

Ok, gosh. Does anyone watch TV? I mean, basically, acting is sort of an art. And there are some good actors and good shows. I may not agree with their political views, but they are still talented people. I really think that we should all really pray for hollywood. It is taking some pretty good people down. And I don’t spend hours in front of the tube or anything, but there are some good shows that I like for the sake of the art. I don’t necessarily agree with Jackson Pollack’s lifestyle either, but he was a brilliant artist. Same with Van Gogh, or Michaelangelo. (I know I spelled that wrong) hehe

I didn’t watch the Emmy’s nor do I even watch television but I don’t think that actors are evil or anything silly like that.

After all, Pope John Paul II was an actor before the war and he still has a tremendous ability for the theatrical…I still find him mesmerizing to watch even in light of his health problems!
