Did you ever get the impression that American politics is going in circles and that the only thing the two-party system agrees on is to hate each othe

I believe in a higher-ordered intelligence that will be able to re-distribute wealth effectively, whether this intelligence comes from the nations themselves or from God Himself, does not matter. What matters is that it will happen and nobody can prevent it!
The intelligence of what to do is there, and yes, it is frequently stopped because
  1. People who talk about this really aren’t interested in results, just in proclaiming how righteous and virtuous they are and
  2. As Peterson notes “It doesn’t matter how well-intentioned you are and even if you are able to break into some kind of generosity empire yourself, there will always be someone who is waiting in the shadows to kill you in your sleep or knife you in the back and take the power for themselves”.
  3. So the only solution is a rising tide from the ground up through the free market at a grassroots level.

I voted third party, American Solidarity Party ran quite closely to Catholic teaching. No amount of shaming about third party voting will convince me that I made a mistake. Neither Clinton or Trump passed the issues test for me.

I used to vote third party. Once people find out you are, one side will dislike you for it because your helping who you really don’t want to win win and the other side will ignore you because it’s one less vote for their opponents.

In other words, you are ignored or resented in the final analysis.

BTW, for those who voted third party hoping to avoid being called a racist, sexist or whatever…if you stand for anything worthwhile, that’s inevitable. You cannot feed the crocodile and survive-----only hope to be eaten last.

The two party system is our reality. In order to break it, you’d likely have to jump to 4 parties because if one party still retains a majority vote by itself (or a near majority) you’ve just effectively gone to a 1 party system.

And to the op, yes. It goes in circles.

The pendulum swings back and forth perpetually. Dem to Rep back to Dem and so on. The battle is trying to affect lasting change while you’re in power that will move the fulcrum which the pendulum sits on in your direction bit-by-bit.

Which is hard to do, thankfully.

And yet, our country thrives with the ever swinging pendulum!
