Osteen likes to make a joke at the beginning of all of his sermons. As I passed by the family room I caught Mr Osteen in his Sunday televised show telling an anecdote of a Catholic priest telling a just baptized farmer"you were a baptist and now you have become a Catholic"(I don’t remember the exact words). Then he said the farmer went to his barn, sprinkle his cow and other animals and told them"you were a cow, a pig and a chicken, now you are all fish"Mr Olsteen’s huge audience broke laughing.
I asked myself why did he had to poke fun at us.I had thought he was uplifting, now
I do not like him.I had not set the TV to his program, but in the past I listened to him a couple of times. He was inspirational .Now I see he also has hidden agendas.![]()
I remember a joke that went like this:
A Jewish man moved into a Catholic neighborhood, now every Friday of Lent, the Jewish man had a big BBQ outside of his house and his neighboring Catholics would get annoyed because they smelled the delicious BBQ but couldn’t join. So the converted him and took him to a priest. At baptism the priest said, “You were born a Jew, raised a Jew, now a Catholic.” The following Friday the now Catholic man had a BBQ at his house. His neighbors went to remind him that he was now Catholic and couldn’t have any meat during lent. But right before they could get a word out the man takes out water and sprinkles the steak saying, “You were born a cow, raised a cow, now a fish.”
I imagine he was saying that joke but instead of Jewish he made it a farmer. I’d be really surprised that he said something bashing Catholics, especially on his show. The guy can’t say anything bad about Mormonism or make the proper case to become a Christian.
I don’t like Osteen, but I think you took it out of context.
Osteen is the one that says that if you become a Christian you’ll have no troubles for the rest of your life, right?
