Other than considering them dupes and claimimg they have lost the war I am sure you support the troops. You should check what they say about people who want to unilatrerally pull out of Iraq yet claim to supprt them

Have you noticed the vast numbers of Americans risking their lives in leaky boats to reach Cuba so they can have good medical care? Have you noticed the droves of amercians flooding into Canada to partake in their marvelous helath care system.

Sounds like propaganda to me. Just because you don’t like MM’s political views, does not mean that he is to be discredited in all of his work. I KNOW that much of what he says in this documentary is true. Has affected several members of my own immediate and extended family.

I don’t know of any that do come here for medical care. But I do know of several senior citizens that go to Canada for their prescriptions because they cannot afford to get them here.

It may be true that US pharmaceutical research is more advanced than others, but what good is it, if the majority cannot afford the meds anyway?

BTW, how do you think Randy Tobias (ex-CEO of Eli Lilly &Co.) got his cabinet position from GWB? Couldn’t be from political contributions

I never knew that Michael Moore had trained to be a priest. Maybe this is why he feels he needs to spend his time exposing some of the ridiculous, evil things in our country. I don’t think much of the uncharitable attitude toward him. Isn’t this supposed to be a CATHOLIC Web Site? Aren’t Catholics supposed to be charitable?

I am very glad that he made a movie about the ridiculous health care system that we have in this country. I’m going to be sure to see it. I have always thought it is just ridiculous that getting health insurance is dependent on having a job. HELLO! People who are really sick can’t work and are probably in danger of losing their jobs.

My husband now qualifies for Medicare, and it is such a relief! His medical bills just go floating through, the secondary insurance pays their little bit, and he ends up owing ZERO! Wouldn’t it be nice if we could think of a way to get the whole country on Medicare! The deductible would probably have to be huge, and we would still need secondary insurance, but I am really impressed with the way he gets huge discounts and the bills just go sailing through!

No, actually Cuba is ranked #37 in worldwide medical care and the US is ranked #34. So he admitted that health care in the US is slightly better than Cuba, a third world country.

Amazing.

Not only that, but it appears that Cuba’s pharmaceutical industry is only slightly smaller than that of the United States.

In the interest of full disclosure, perhaps knowledgeable posters could list the medical clinics of renown in Cuba, those that are comparable to the Mayo Clinic or the cardiac hospitals in Houston.

Having that kind of information for each of the 33 countries that are ranked higher than the United States would be helpful also.

Scuse I? Since when is a country’s PHARMACEUTICAL (drug) industry the same thing as its HEALTH CARE system? Very different beasties.

And since when is its medical research the same thing as its health care system?

All the pharamceutical and reasearch labs in the world don’t matter if the drugs and knowledge they produce aren’t easily available to all citizens and actually being used upon them when they have health problems!
