Scuse I? Since when is a country’s PHARMACEUTICAL (drug) industry the same thing as its HEALTH CARE system? Very different beasties.
And since when is its medical research the same thing as its health care system?
All the pharamceutical and reasearch labs in the world don’t matter if the drugs and knowledge they produce aren’t easily available to all citizens and actually being used upon them when they have health problems!
Please educate me: List … 1,2,3,4, etc., the parts of a health care system … but exclude pharmaceuticals and large teaching hospitals. Show what is lacking in the United States.

How about emergency rooms where you don’t have to wait half a day to be seen and hospital stays that cost less than five figures? Doctors that make the occasional housecall when it’s necessary and spend longer than half a minute with each patient? Health insurance that’s worth a darn? Government funding for health that’s ditto?
