Did you know that St Therese of Lisieux practiced St Louis de Montfort's Total Consecration to Mary?

[Therese’s] life of union with the Mother of God became daily more intense. According to the late Prioress of Carmel at Lisieux, what contributed not a little to this was the classic treatise, “On the True Devotion of Blessed Virgin Mary,” by St. Louis de Montfort, which Thérèse frequently read and meditated upon. Following Louis de Montfort’s advice, she did everything with Mary, or rather, in the presence of Mary, under Mary’s influence and according to her example.

I cannot express the level of surprise I had upon reading this section. Why have I never encountered this information before?

Oh, that’s a wonderful essay! 🙂 And I too am surprised and find it strange I hadn’t read that before. I haven’t read every last book about her of course, but I’m pretty sure I’ve read most of her own writings that have survived. The English translations, I mean. I’m wondering now if I’ve overlooked or missed some of her written output. Of what wasn’t lost or destroyed, I mean. Anyway, I’ve bookmarked that, and I’m going to reread it tomorrow when I’m fresh. Thank you so much for posting that! 🙂 I’m pleased to have read that. Peace be with you, nuntym, and blessings.
