Here are a few things you may not have known about Catholicism. I know they are true because I read them here.

***The “Catholicism interpretation of the bible” is a “source” of doctrine.

***God gives us grace so that we can do good works which helps us to better works which gets us more grace which makes us do even better works which gets us more grace, etc…

***If a Catholic earns enough grace he’ll go to heaven.

***Catholics could go to purgatory for millions of years.

***“Magesterium” is one of the pope’s titles.

***The Catholic Church doesn’t talk about Romans 10:9.

***“Official” Roman Catholicism teaches salvation by works.

There. Now you know.

In Christ,
Nancy 🙂

Oh wait! I missed a good one:

***The pope speaks for ALL Christians.

In Christ,
Nancy 🙂

What a load of **** :banghead: ! The truly sad part is that there will be some innocent soul that will believe this guy’s lies and half-truths…

The best advice I ever saw for any Catholic, make that any Christian - always seek the TRUTH.

Oh, this is rich…

Well, you do know that Magesty comes from the Latin root word Magesterium… as in “Yes, Your Magesterium”… hahahahaha…

Well, he does if by all Christians we mean all those baptized with the trinitarian baptism. But, I doubt these people would be interested in such fine distinctions, not when half-truths and distortions seem to work so well for their cause.

Wait a sec. I scrolled down to where he’s butchering confession (now called “reconciliation”) and he said they say, “Bless me, Father” (not Jehovah). Is this a Jehovah’s Witness?
Anyway, i thought the Pope DID speak for all Christians, but Catholics are the only ones bound to adhere to the teachings of the Church. How off am I?

There I was, having a perfectly fine day until I very foolishly went to that site. Guess I’m a glutton for punishment… I did send an e-mail to the address at the bottom, suggesting that he use quotes from the CCC for statements about Catholic doctrine instead of his own misconceptions. Just a nice polite suggestion…

Anyway, as Vicar of Christ the pope does speak for all baptized Christians, whether they realize it, or like it, or not.

Nancy,

I thought for a minute you were serious. I was about ready to run for the hills. 😃

Do you think the administrator will get angry if I suggest we SPAM this guy?

Here are his emails…

I have a webcam :rotfl:

Hey, I didn’t know this, either!
“What is The Magisterium? Is it a group or council?”
No, it is an office the pope holds, one of his titles. Similarly, the president of the United States is automatically the Commander in Chief of the United States military forces. Although the pope has councils of advisors, his Magisterium pronouncements are not based on consensus and do not require the approval of any councils. According to the Catholic Church, if all Christians disagreed with an “infallible” teaching of a pope, all of them would have to change their position to his position.
Sure is different from what I thought the Magisterium is…learn somethin’ new every day!

If a moderater was angry, you would be banned.🙂

As a reminder, CA Forum Conduct Rule #4:
Do not post others’ e-mail addresses, private messages, or private e-mail sent by them unless they give you permission to do so.
Now might be a good time to review the rules here. Be sure to keep all conduct above board.

Of course I wouldn’t do anything of the sort but, I thought it would be funny.

 I really didn’t say the “s” word  ! I promise I said a toned down version, but I didn’t realize it would get bleeped out, too! Just wanted to clear that up in case anyone thought I had a horrible potty mouth… 😦

Sorry!!

Well, I did send this guy an e-mail (on my own initiative, and from the info provided on HIS site, not from here!!!), in which I suggested that he not use his own misconceptions of Catholicism but use information from the Catechism. He replied claiming that he does, and gave me an address to another site or page of his wherein he pits a quote from the CCC against a quote from the Bible. I told him that, unlike what may be taught in certain man-made traditions, the Bible is to be taken as a whole, as is Catholic teaching. I suggested that not understanding what he is disagreeing with is a sign that his argument is not strong. Anyway, not that it’s likely to do any good…

Ohh. What is his other website like? Is he lying about we teach and prfess or just saying that it isn’t biblical? Or maybe if we’re lucky he will admit we’re right. :gopray2:
