That when Jesus turned water into to wine at the wedding of Canna, he was really just purifying it? Apparently water was so bad back then that they had to use a minuscule amount of alcohol to kill the bacteria, much like we would use a drop or 2 of chlorine if we had to drink un-sanitized water.

And that, by extension, anytime Jesus is talking about wine, he is really talking about sanitized water…

So Jesus really did think that drinking was a sin. All those churches that use wine are in sin…

Who would have known… I sure am glad Mr. Calvary Chapel Radio Pastor cleared me up on that…

Sorry… i need to stop listening to that radio station… every day I hear something more and more egregious…

The guy has to get his facts straight. In fact, Jesus had them bring out the “good wine” which was STRONGER than the wine they were already drinking, the latter being washed down with water.

This is just more proof that one can will oneself to read absolutely anything into the bible. Sola Scripturists, are you paying attention?

I dunno… my thing is do people really believe this bunk they are selling…

It’s sad really… every time I hear stuff like this, it makes me sad to think about what Christ’s Message has become.

But, I guess listening to this stuff is like picking at a scab, I can’t help myself to see what they are going to say next.

(All that being said, they don’t always have kooky messages… and quite frequently do have messages that are on par.)

Wow. Are people really that misinformed or do they really just spend all their time trying to twist things into anti-Catholic junk?

Given all the Scriptural discussion of purification and water, one would think that if Christ simply purified the water, it would have said so.

Moreover, why did multitudes follow Christ immediately following the miracle at Cana? Why would they think it a miracle that Christ managed to put a few drops of wine into water?

It is like the Jesus Seminar types who claim that the miracles of the loaves and fishes were simply Buddy Christ teaching about sharing, as though desert people who routinely welcomed neighbors and strangers into their homes to eat would need to be taught to share. Sharing is survival in such places, down to this day (read T.E. Lawrence’s “Seven Pillars of Wisdom” if you need secular proof).

But here, yet again, we have a Protestant pastor placing the tradition of man (prohibition) above Scripture to suit their own purposes.

I would do a little dance, but they frown upon dancing as well.
