Some Protestant Religions such as Baptists refrain completely form any alcoholic beverage. They claim that the wine referred to in the Gospels was not alcoholic or had a very low alcohol content and Catholics are in error in using a alcoholic drink, with its incumbent danger of addiction, in the Mass. Was the wine in the Gospels (at the the wedding feast in Cana, at the last supper etc.) actually wine as we know it today or something else?

Hi,

It wasn’t until the twentieth century that Welch’s Grape Juice found a way to keep grape juice from fermenting. In the warm climate of the Holy Land there was no way grape juice would not ferment. Scripture speaks of wine. Give me a break!
