I joined Weight Watchers 5 weeks ago and have lost 11 lbs. My husband is also on the diet and he’s lost 9 lbs. 👍
We both love the new Weight Watchers program.

Anyone else on the board on a diet?

Well, I am not on a particular diet, I have simply changed my lifestyle. If you check out my website you will find out that I recently underwent Gastric Bypass Surgery on May 3rd, and now 5 months and 12 days later, I have lost between 150 and 155 lbs.

My current “diet” includes good vitamins, and between 800 and 1500 calories a day from good lean protiens, veggies, and whole grain bread products, but still not alot of breads… This is a lifestyle that I will live with till the end of my days I imagine, and I thank God for helping me find a way out of my prison of fat.

God Bless and may the Lord be with you on your quest for better health through a lifestyle change, which in essences is what you are learning at weight watchers, a new way to eat…

Ps I do have ice cream about once a week 😃

everybody in the family expanded their baseball and football online pools to include a dieting pool, in our family if it isn’t competitive and isn’t for money, it’s no fun.

I’m not one, but I’m learning from a young age to eat right so…and to exersice, and to get enough sleep (working on that) So I’m doing pretty well!😃

I have struggled with food most of my life. I am trying now to make it a spiritual battle by ‘offering it up’ and attempting to love the mortification.

I have asked my Guardian Angel, Ecce, to help. When I remember to ask him for help, turning away the temptation to eat goodies is greatly reduced!

Best of luck to you all!
Marc

:clapping: Good job!

This is a really good thread and one that can help those who are on diets/lifestyle changes.

I am on diet and do okay most of the time but it sure seems like it takes forever to lose weight.
If this doesn’t work …I supose I’ll have to do a gastric bypass.
Its a struggle.

I’m dieting.
Although I’m not terribly out of shape. I am dieting so I can get super fit for my chosen sports and fit into jeans that are on the shelf. You know, their are 8 pairs of jeans there but only 3 that I can really wear. :o
I am 5’8 and 157 lbs right now. I should be 145 or so. 12 pounds to go! Started out at 165.
I have been doing Weight Watchers. My mom gave me the books and the slide thingy to count points. I would have to drive 2 hours to get to a meeting so I will not join actually. But I am doing fine without being a member.
I did Atkins before and man it works good - but it is too hard to stay eating like that. And not much fun. WW is more fun. I can actually eat with normal people. Keep up the good work, mmd and everyone! Lets check in once in awhile on the issue. 👍

I’m not into Weight Watchers but doen’t matter 'cause we all struggle to keep going and star with whatever program we’re on…
Lets keep this up so we can support each other… 👍

Yikes! That guy has more cleavage then my old grannie Rose!
Scary.

Hi Church

I have been doing low carb for almost 2 years. Had to take a break from it after my cancer surgery but back with it now.

I do not lose weight much anymore just don’t gain. My doctors like Atkins type diets, and in fact, is the lifestyle of one of them.
I am so happy to see so many low carb foods hitting the market and some are outstanding. Has anyone tried tried Dreamfields Pasta? Low carb and as good as any imported Italian brand. This has been wonderful for my Italian hubby.

I am 5’3" and holding at 153 pounds. When I went off Atkins, and on Radiation, I actually gained a few pounds. My doctor just shook her head, she said you are suppose to lose weight with lung cancer. Oh well…

I need to work on my excercising. That is going to be my greatest help.

My first day with Light Weigh was Friday. I am so excited about this! I know that for me it will only be done with God carrying me. I’ll report back with progress.

If you’re on a weight loss program and miss those spicy buffalo chicken wings, here’s a recipe I tried last night that the whole family enjoyed:

Baked Buffalo Chicken

4 (4oz) skinless boneless chicken breast halves or thighs
1/4 cup hot sauce
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon nonfat margarine spread
1 teaspoon celery seeds (optional)
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup fat free blue cheese or ranch dressing

Preheat oven to 400. Cook chicken in a skillet coated with cooking spray over med-high heat. Cook 4 min on each side until browned. Place chicken in 11X7 pan sprayed w/ cooking spray. Combine hot sauce & next 4 ingredients & pour over chicken. Bake uncovered for 25 min. 4 svgs- 1 breast half w/ 2 tablespoons of dressing. Serve with carrot and celery sticks.

231 cal, .7 fiber, 6.7 fat

I’m not lo-carbing, but if you are, then I guess you substitute the nonfat margarine spread with butter.

You can try broiling them for a few minutes to make them crispier on the outside, but check them often!

Yep
No transfats. Could use butter or even Olive or nut oil.
Looks great! That is one of my dinners tor this week.
Thanks

You’re doing great! I have my size 8 denim shorts hanging right next to my exercise clothes to keep me motivated. I’m determined to fit in those again, but it will be a while. I still have about 40 lbs. to go.
