Difference between Priest, Bishop, and Elder?

Different translations seem to use these words interchangeably. Help! Which is which, and which means what (if that makes sense 🙂 )?
 
priest=elder. I think sometimes bishop was used to describe a priest also, but soon after St. Paul (i.e 100 A.D) bishop was used to describe what a bishop is now.

A Bishop had charge of multiple churches each hacing BOTH priest and Elders and had as today the ability to install proest and even other Bishops.

A Priest had many of the same duties as does a PARISH priest today

An Elder was a vaguge discription of both Deacons and some who help w/o “Sacramental-ORDERS” positions of leadership and responsibility in a particular church.

You’ve gotta watch with this.

Some (protestant) bibles translate episkopoi (bishop) and presbyteroi (priest) as elder since they don’t agree with the priest/bishop “thing.” They might also translate ordained as elected.

So you have to look at the original Greek.

For example Acts 14:23 specifically says πρεσβυτερους (presbyterous priests) but most bibles translate this as elders.

The protestant versions deliberately mistranslate these words because their theology is

That Christ is from a far better priesthood than that of Aaron (the sacerdotos) So we have a High Priest who has passed through the heavens and is ministering in the temple not made with human hands therefore we can come boldly to the throne of God and receive mercy (forgiveness and grace and the means to overcome temptation). There is no longer a need for an earthly priesthood which offers sacrifes for sins . . . Or the need of a earthly mediator between God and man.

Don’t forget though that w have a church that developed, and so forms of priesthood not seen in the bible came to be in the first few centuries.
