Hi, I’m just trying to figure out something 🙂

In the Latin rite of the Catholic Church, it’s believed that the Pope is the visible head of the Church, that there is Purgatory, that Mary was conceived without sin (Immaculate Conception), and the Real Presence… are all these beliefs shared by Eastern Catholics?

My other question is, would you agree with transubstantiation, or do you view it like the Orthodox do? (Christ is present but we don’t know how)

thanks 🙂

Visible head of the Catholic Church, a union of 23 churches sui iuris. Yes.

Purgatory: in the minimal definition actually made dogmatic, yes, in that a place or state of ongoing purification post mortem. Purgatory as purifying flames and torture, ala Dante, no.

Immaculate Conception: generally accepted, but not made much of.

Real Presence: Yes.
