I must be very lucky. I guess my parish is one of the orthodox parishes.
I’ve been in four Maronite parishes here in the USA and I never experienced anything I would call abuses, but abuses and poor liturgy exist in some parishes from all of the churches Eastern or Western.
Our parish belongs to the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles. I have met and talked with Sayedna Elias and I was very impressed with him. I think we are in good hands.
One of the things I thought was very good was the sending out of prayer / information booklets to all of us for Great Lent, mailed directly to us. The printing is of very high quality.
The booklet has the Our Father and Hail Mary in Syriac, and Arabic. There are short biographies of our Maronite saints, and prayers to them too.
Some might say what’s the big deal, but I think it’s positive, yes it was a small thing but it’s little things like that that are needed to instruct and encourage.
For what it’s worth, my teenage niece and nephews loved it.
