All,

I have a friend or two that are Catholics, but have started attending a Lutheran Church on occasion. I think they don’t realize the differences between them. I searched google, but most sites with the differences are Lutheran sites! Obviously, I disagreed with the way they presented the differnces and what they said about the Catholic Church. I prefer not to send those links to my friends, who might then get further confused.

In addition, I believe the MO Synod Lutheran Church is closer in spirit and practice than the ECLA (sp?) church, correct?

Thanks!

Juli

The format and structure of the Lutheran Church is similar to that of the Catholic Church (same readings, similar liturgy, etc.) I have good friends who are Lutheran Missouri Synod, but LMS is officially anti-Catholic. Per their web site (lcms.org/pages/internal.asp?NavID=579), the Pope is the anti-Christ, so I wouldn’t necessarily call them “like Catholics”. Plenty of LMS parishoners (and some pastors) would probably be surprised to see that as an official position. Peace.
