I plead with you, Reformed, you seem like a person who is capable of intellectual engagement. Have the intellectual honesty to explore the things you have been taught, to see if they are really true. Instead of assuming, please explore what the catholic church really teaches about these things. If you are going to argue with us, at least have the temerity to argue about what we really believe, instead of the misinformation you havea been given.
Guan, You really are asking for a lot. But you did it in such a nice way Reformed might respond favorably. Kootos!

Thank you for your feedback. However, I was just informed by Reformed on two other threads that he is ignoring my posts, so I fear that my effort to courtesy will be of no avail. 😦

Dear Reformed, on your point 7 in which you claim “The Reformed hold that purgatory is not taught in Scripture. They believe, in accord with Scripture, that at death the souls of believers will depart from the body to be with Christ in heaven, awaiting the resurrection to life, glory and immortality.” Which Scriptures are you referring to? The amended copy you need to prove something to yourself we have told the whole world is true?

Do you reeeeeeealy believe that God will spare you His just punishments for your sins because you cling to some of His teaching while denying the vastness of His truth contained in the Magisterium of the Church? Or have you come to an agreement about the possiblity that your poor soul may have a chance at Purgatory instead of the lie you cling to hoping in vain the Church has it wrong. You could try this little prayer, Lord I do believe, heal my unbelief. I think if you did try it, you might find more of His truth filing in the gaps in your beliefs and then you’ll have a good cry and want to come to Him in the Blessed Sacrament. Before you do you’ll need to go to Confession.

Peace,

Gail

Does that not tell you something? That he is unable to dialogue and that his mind is already closed?

The only thing to do is pray. Nothing is impossible to God.

IN honor of women’s history month and in memory of Erma Bombeck who lost her fight with cancer.

**IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER **
- by Erma Bombeck
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer).

** I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren’t there for the day.

I would have burned th e pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more. **

** I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the ‘good’ living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth. **

** I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains. **

** I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life. **

** I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn’t show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I’d have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle. **

** When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, ‘Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.’ **

**There would have been more ‘I love you’s’ More ‘I’m sorry’s.’

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute.look at it and really see it . . live it and never give it back**

** STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!! **

** Don’t worry about who doesn’t like you, who has more, or who’s doing what **

** Instead, let’s cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.**

May she rest in peace!.
