Differences in protestant services -- how many use some ceremony?

It may be sort of alluded to in their name. Wesley and his fellow worshippers were known to be very methodical in the practice of their faith, and while it's not clear that a fixed para-liturgy was part of this, it would not be contradictory to their other habits of prayer and Bible study. It was originally a name given to them by outsiders, and they then adopted it themselves.

Ah ... I have often wondered about the name, but I've never been curious enough to investigate.
