Differences in training when looking at the FSSP, Institute of Christ the King, etc.?

Two sort-of-flippant but funny comments I heard, germane to this topic.

The FSSP priest, when asked about the ICRSS by a potential vocation, says “you need a foundation in the priesthood, not a foundation of lace!”

The ICRSS priest, approached by the same man asking about the FSSP, says, “Oh the fraternity … they have a great devotion to Our Lady of Low Mass.”

I find both to have some truth, but obviously they are just jokes. I love both groups!

They also operate a parish outside Chicago (in Volo, Il) but it’s still within the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Thanks Pro Vobis:thumbsup:

I never heard of Volo Illinois, I am trying to research the place now.

Blessings,

Is Volo even on the map? 🤷

Leave it to the Canons to find some corner of the USA that was lost. LOL

I always thought of the town as a short diagonal street between Rte 12 and Rt 120. Known more for their Antique Autos than anything else. It’s basically in the farmlands and you can see St. Peter’s, though a rather small but beautiful church, from quite a distance.

I am 63 yrs. and know the differences between SSPX, ICK and others. SSPX is the only one that hasn’t compromised (so far) with the modernist church. The sermons, training, etc. doesn’t matter if you have compromised. our Lord said, be either hot or cold if you are lukewarm, I will spit you out. In other words, you can not compromise!!! The SSPX isn’t perfect, but so far they haven’t compromised. Other then the SSPX all others must listen to the local Bishop, if the don’t, they won’t get permission to say Mass. They must also give the local diocese a certain amount of money. We don’t have to listen to the pope unless he makes an excathrada statement. As St. Paul said, if your not sure, follow Tradition, that is what we do. We will not compromise!!!
