Just wondering why different iphone apps might have different daily readings.

Eg iMissal has Matthew 13:54-58 as the Gospel reading for today (May 1) while others, such as Daily Readings, have John 14:27-31.

Thanks in advance šŸ™

Matt 13:54-58 is for St. Joseph the worker.

John 14:27-31 is for the 5th Tuesday of Easter.

I’m guessing the sites have different defaults and I would expect most to default to St. Joseph (apparently an optional feast)

I use ā€˜Universalis’. It can be set to whatever country you live in. Thus giving you the correct reading.

There are sometimes up to three different alternatives for which readings to choose. It could be Ordinary time, a martyr or a saint to celebrate. Depending upon which country the app comes from then the readings could be from that country and not where you reside. Different dioceses also add their saints and parishes their patron’s days.
