How many different Masses and different Rites are there in the Church that are in communion with Rome? At least the ones that are still being said.

I know there are Rites like the Chaldean and Maronite. These are not Latin rite Masses.

Also, within the Latin Rite, there are many different Masses, I believe. There is the Novis Ordo and the Traditional Latin (Tridentine) Mass. But there are also Dominican Masses, right?

Can someone help me out here? Thank you.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. The background on how the liturgy developed for each of these Rites is very helpful.

I also see that some of these churches and rites had separated from Rome, in some cases for many centuries, and then returned to communion. That gives me much optimism for true reunification in the future.

Now if only I could find a book that describes each Rite, it’s language, history, development and the cultural context. That would be very helpful.

Thank you all and God bless you for your help. 😃
