Different Theologies

Ok I have heard many times that Eastern Catholics and Western (Latin Rite) Catholics have different theologies.
I recognize that is part of what makes the Catholic Church catholic. But I have never found out what those theologies are. Is there somewhere where I could get a basic overview of the various theologies in the church differences and similarities?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Perhaps Will could clarify, but I believe he is talking about different rites within the Catholic Church, NOT Eastern Orthodox who have similar beliefs, but are nonetheless in schism.

All Catholics have to submit to defined doctrine of the Church, regardless of which rite they fall in. On the flip side, theological issues that are open to speculation are open for all, regardless of rite.
 
Defide, yes you are correct. I am talking theoligies within the Catholic Church. Not the Orthodox churchs.
 
If you go to the Eastern Christianity board and look around a little, you’ll see that they talk about the differences all the time.

Some of these differences are:
Primacy / Supremecy of the Patriarch of Rome
Original Sin, especially in relation to Augustine and Aquinas
The Nicene Creed and the Procession of the Spirit from the Father and the Son.
Purgatory
Immaculate Assumption
Contraception

The question is whether these differences are real differences or only apparent differences in which the East and West simply look at opposite sides of the same coin, so to speak.
The East says they are different. The West says it is the opposite side of the coin.

The issue of eastern rites in union with Rome and Eastern Orthodox not in union with Rome is a common point of confusion.
