Most of the time, the standard “Ave Maria” is the one by Schubert, but there are literally 100s of settings of the “Ave Maria”. Is there anyone at your school you could ask? Was it sung in unison, or were there harmonies? Some settings could be reworked for three voices and for acapella.At my graduation ceremony I heard a different version of Ave Maria than the usual Bach/Gounod version. It was a sung a cappella by a trio of altos. It was a bit faster than the standard version. I know this isn’t much to work with, but does anyone know what version this might be? It was quote beautiful and I would love to listen to it again. Links would be appreciated!

There are literally hundreds of musical settings to the “Ave Maria”, it’s difficult to know which one it could be without at least knowing the composer or the time period the piece was written to narrow it down. Do you know who the singer was? What style of singing did she use?I wonder if anyone could help me with this. I went to a friend’s wedding and they played the most beautiful rendition of Ave Maria I have ever heard. This was a homemade cd that was played through the speakers of the church. I didn’t get a chance to ask the bride on what site she downloaded the song from or who it was by. It was not an instrumental version. There was a woman singing and she had a wonderful voice. I know this description is very vague, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
