I understand in older European countries, there are several different ways of electing bishops, other than the common way of the Vatican selecting via the recommendation of the nuncio/delegate:
1 The Cathedral Chapter submits three names to the Vatican to select one
2 The Vatican submits three names to the Cathedral Chapter to select one
Does this still happen, and if so, where?
Are there any other ways where bishops are elected?
