Difussion of prayer

Why is it that we pray, for example, that someone be cured of cancer but not that all people afflicted with cancer be cured? Is it because it is too much to ask compared to an individual healing? Both would be equally easy for God. Is it the same reason we don’t pray or an amputated limb to be restored; because it is unlikely to be granted?
 
Reminds me of the Bruce Almighty scene where he lets everyone win the Lottery. I think everyone made $2.00
