I have been looking back at childhood episodes of one of old favorites Digimon Frontier and it seems to separate the good from evil by making one side the 7 sacraments while the other side is the 7 deadly sins.

this episode was an example

youtube.com/watch?v=h755-TtK_Dg

Ranamon: Her sin is vanity which lust provokes, she claims to be so beautiful and act arrogant but her beast mode reveals her true nature, an ugly sea succubus.

While Zoey whos humaniod form is a cute fairy Kazemon, her new beast form is a beautiful angle like being called Zephyrmon, and she was very humble about her looks, she liked looking cute but she never let it get to her head and in a way she was rewarded with a form that revealed the inner beauty in her soul.

What can we learn from this? Vainty and Lust is ugly with a mask, it may seem attractive at first but when you see the truth, its a hideous sin. True beauty comes from within and humbleness is rewarded with true beauty.

Digimon in all its seasons is a theme of God and Devil, overcoming sin, and so on. Redemption has been flashed here and there too.

I’ve never really noticed the Christian elements of Digimon (although, I never really did watch it that much) I did notice that it did teach reincarnation, as when the digimon die, they get hatched again with new personalities and traits.

it only said DIGIMON not humans, its later explained humans accidentally created digimon when experimenting with tamigotchi, they never reincarnate, they just can’t die, they still retain their personalities and memories, its just hard for the humans because their so used to death being the next step to the afterlife. Fortier to me portrayed it better then the ones before it
