You think it would be inappropriate to start a discussion. That would be a good choice for you. You may not have the interest nor the skills to gently coax the conscience of a dying person. But the poster may be capable of it. It all depends on the rapport she’s developed and the energy of the dying person.

When a dr or nurse asks a patient what they wish to be called, they’re referring to the person’s given name not their pretend name. Nicknames count because they’re variations of the person’s given name. Middle names count because they’re part of the given name.

But to wish to be called “Lola” when your name is “Donald” is just wrong.

Statistically, far more sexual diseases result from heterosexual Behavior, as opposed to homosexual Behavior. There are more heterosexuals engaging in sex then there are homosexuals.

This isn’t true at all. I know plenty of doctors who ask somebody what they would like to be called because they want the person to feel as comfortable as possible in the relationship they establish with their doctor. They mark the chart with whatever name the patient says they prefer to be called.
