Dinosaurs or really big chickens

Quick question (yeah right). How can I, a wanna-be strict creationist square the existence of dinosaur fossils with Genesis? How do we explain dino’s in the light of creation?
What you do: look at scientific data and realize the universe is 14 billion years old. Realize that evolution IS creation, and so is the big bang. It was guided by God, and that is how he created us.

Why do you want to BELIEVE a theory? Why not just KNOW the truth?

Very insightful ideas about an issue that has bothered me for some time. Thanks.
God created our first parents. This is dogma.

Instead of the argument always being either or, we can accept that God created Adam and Eve supernaturally and inserted them in the timeline wherever He wished despite what may or may not have been happening evolutionwise at the time.

In addition Adam and Eve had preternatural gifts so who is to say God could not have explained these things to them.

Evolution and Creation are NOT complimentary, they are mutually exclusive! Evolutionism was invented as an alternative to Creation. Evolutionism states the we are “evolving”, becomming better. The Bible says that we are devolving. It says that we are becomming more corrupt, weaker and more prone to disease.

People are certainly not more intelligent than in the past. Today, we are able to build on knowledge, something that animals are unable to do. But we are not more intelligent.

Other than specialists, the average American today is dumber than his parents. Kids today know about computers and high-tech devices, but know nothing about history, economics or the political system. Few are capable of an independent thought.

Many people today are ready to accept the latest novelty: Y2K, Global Warming, Crop Circles, UFOs, Astrology, and of course, Evolutionism. Why are people so gullible? Why do they continue to believe after having been lied to so many times?

Virtually everything in Genesis is at odds with Evolutionism. You can’t have it both ways. Either God created us, or we evolved from some mythical simian ancestor. Do you believe that God utilized Evolution, and lied in Genesis? Either we were create from dust, or we evolved from some proto-human, simian. Either death came as a result of sin, or death have been around for millions of years. Either each kind reproduced after its own kind, or occasionally, one kind produced another. Either the first man named all the animals, or most of them had become extinct before he came on the scene.

So, what do you believe? Is God accurate, or should we consider Charles Darwin? It seems to me that they have quite opposite views on our origins.

Often overlooked is the fact the God does NOT have a body.

While we ARE created in His image, it is our souls only that are in God’s image. Consequently, human bodies could very easily have evolved following the natural laws created by God.

Do you actually believe that God physically looks like a human?
Gee, that thing on the Cross looks a lot like a body 😉

that’s God incarnate…made man… it is not God the Father… it is God incarnate! God often appeared as symbols in the Old Testament, never in His true form, or formless state, ie. the burning bush etc etc… he is neither male nor female…so we are made in his image internally, not externally.

God presented Himself as reality in the person of Jesus Christ. Genesis clearly states that we [the Trinity] will make man in our image. Adam, the first man, had an intellectual capacity and was made full grown. God brought the animals to Adam and he named them.

As far as science goes, do you know how far the Hubble Space Telescope can see into the universe? You know about the ‘red shift’? Do the math and it turns out the galaxies farthest away are moving away at faster than the speed of light.

Recently, archaeologists have discovered that ‘modern’ dinosaurs were living with their ancestors and that the small tree-dwelling creature that is supposedly man’s ancestor was alive during the time of the modern dinosaurs. Also, scientists have found evidence of interbreeding between neanderthals and ‘modern’ humans.

And what are the consequences for not believing in evolution? Most people in the US make 20,000 a year or less. They could care less about evolution while driving a truck, flipping a burger or working on an assembly line.

Meanwhile, the Bible clearly states that God created everything and nothing was created without Him.

God bless,
Ed
