My diocese is about to (next week) embark on its annual convocation of priests. That is a 3-day event in which virtually no church in the entire Diocese has a Mass for three days straight. For most of us who want to go to Daily Mass, that is from Sunday morning to Thursday morning (4 days, actually) without the Mass. Oh we have Deacons or “approved” Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers who are permitted to do a Communion service but it just isn’t the same. I can’t imagine every police officer, doctor, or fire fighter in a city taking 3 days to be “in convocation” and it bothers me that this happens every year, right after Divine Mercy Sunday. Am I being unfair or unreasonable to feel this way? If so, please drum some sanity into my unreasonableness. Thanks.
