This is a very generous offer from Bishop Morlino. If you are interested, please contact Fr. Alex Navarro as soon as possible.Dear parents of the children to be confirmed:
Please remember the following:
• I need your child’s baptismal certificate, unless they were baptized at Saint Norbert’s
• If you are not members of Saint Norbert’s or Saint Aloysius’, I need, per diocesan regulations, a letter from your pastor acnowledging suitability of the candidate to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please let your pastor know that age should not be an issue because Bishop Morlino is aware that children as young as 7 will be receiving the Sacrament; your pastor should take into consideration mainly doctrinal and spiritual preparation of the candidates.
• We are asking for a donation of $30 per candidate to help Saint Norbert’s with the expenses. But please know that if this is too much, especially for those that have more than one child being confirmed, you can donate only what you can afford or disregard this completely.
• We are trying to achieve uniformity in the way the confirmandi are going to dress, and so please note that boys will be wearing suits, and girls will be wearing modest, white dresses, and veils. If this can’t be achieved, their Sunday best should suffice.
• Boys need a male sponsor, and girls need a female sponsor.
• Confirmandi need to choose the name of a saint. Please let me know what name they choose as soon as possible. We need to make the name tags in Latin.
• There will be a High Mass at 4:30 pm that will most likely be followed by a short rehearsal for the confirmandi and their sponsors. Please be there for the Mass.
• I’m attaching a booklet that follows the ceremony of Confirmation in the Traditional Rite. Please go through this booklet with your children so they acquire a better understanding of what will be going on the day they take part in the ceremony, and a better understanding of the Sacrament.
Please, reply to this email with any question you may have. And keep passing the word around about this great opportunity!
God Bless.
