I oficially began the discernment process for the Permanate Diaconate last night. We had an informational meeting for cantidates and their wives. My application is in and they will soon be setting up an interview with me.

Please pray for my discernment to the ordained ministry of a Deacon.

May the Lord be with you and your wife as you disern your calling.

I had a dream a few years back that my oldest son entered the seminary and after ordination I became a decon and I would assist him as he celebrated Mass. What a powerful dream.

That’s great! I just want to wish you good luck and may God bless you in your calling. I know that you are greatly needed.

Are you in formation now?
Going through the inquiry classes. They will let us know if we are accepted as aspirants by the end of December. For it is great and interesting. One great thing was to start working with a spiritual adviser, a real blessing.

It sounds like you are in the same class as my husband. It’s been an interesting process so far as the details are slowly revealed. Reminds me a little of the unveiling of the cross on Good Friday.

You will be in my prayers.

Slowly is right…but I guess all things in time. You said your husband is in this class. Are we in the same diocese?

Now I understand why the Church has been there for 2000 years without change. It is because things are done so sloooooowly.😃

We are waiting so see if we have been accepted as aspirants. The next round of classes if Jan 10th and we have no idea yet if we are supposed to go or not. My wife is more anxious than I am.

I will keep all of you in my prayers. We have been accepted as aspirants and start our inquiry semester Jan 17th. And I would agree, I think my wife was more anxious than I was when we were waiting to see if we had been accepted.

Thanks for your support it is really important to us.

What you say is interesting because we already went trough the classes of the inquiry semester. For us “aspirant” is the following step with the pre-philosophy classes. I guess that there is no complete consistency for these detail when you go from one diocese to the other.
