I just read this BEAUTIFUL essay on discernment in the new Dappled Things. It is called “Refiner’s Fire” and follows the author as she tries to discern between marriage and religious life (she has a boyfriend but feels a certain call at the same time). I won’t spoil what her final decision is, but I just wanted to recommend it and comment on how she makes both vocations sound so appealing that you really feel as torn as she does while deciding.
