Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have
faith in God; have faith also in me.
John 14:1

I don’t even know what to say, Blessed Lord;
I am so confused.
I am caught in the midst of a violent crisis of faith; so uncertain and
doubtful. I am going through a difficult time in what touches the
depth of my belief.
I am almost tempted to give in to impatience and
despair. Something within me cries out for You yet You seem not to
be there.
I have broken away from many childhood beliefs. I decided
to let my faith pass through the filter of my personal experience.
Suddenly, I found myself to far from You, from security and certainty.
If I still turn to You, Blessed Lord,
it is because I have not yet lost the
hope of finding an exit door for my spiritual anguish.
I begin to realize
that by myself I will not be able to overcome life’s ambiguities and
contradictions. I know the mystery of You continues, and that my
faith-existence is a challenge to be embraced. The light of Your
occasional shadowy presence makes me see that my crisis comes
from the depth of my maturity, from the depth of my faith.
The irony,
Lord; there is a crisis of doubt
only because there is faith. Perhaps I
have become to demanding and to positive. Open my heart Lord, to
the right attitude
when confronted with questions
of my faith.
Amen

Don’t be too hard on yourself, many of us have those fleeting dark periods of confusion when prayer is difficult and God seems distant.
Some have them more then others, but God understands the cause of our individual struggles.

I hadn’t heard that prayer before, such lovely expressive words…

I have committed all too many sins in my life. Don’t give up hope: you should persevere to become the best-version-of-yourself.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit, and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the Earth, amen.

God bless, and merry Christmas.

These feelings are due to you being on the correct path,
the closer you get to God, the more evil is going to attack you.

Carry your cross my friend.
today it is weighed down by discouragement,
tomorrow it might be doubt or depression,
the next day it might be envy of the non believers who don’t seem to suffer. (but will)
The day after it might be your job or lack off, or your school or family. etc…

It will be at you all the time, just offer it up to the Lord and hold stronger
to your faith. You are one of millions and million who suffer this for
the sake of our Lord. You are never alone.

Don’t pray for yourself, Pray for those in Purgatory and they
will pray ten fold for you.

I Pray this helps.
God Bless,
Pete

Remember being forgiven your sins through confession to a Priest,
does not mean you will forget the sin. (this confuses some people)
You are forgiven by God, you can trust in that.
but you will not forget the sin, if you did then you would walk
out of the confessional and commit the exact same sin.
Remembering the sin is apart of the cross you bare
it reminds you of this that will place you in error of God’s plan.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle,
be our protection against the
wickedness and snares
of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
cast into hell Satan and
all the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread, and
forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us, and
lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil,
for Thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory
for ever and ever. Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen. ✞

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. ✞

pwlj_christ87**, I place you in to the care of our Blessed Mother, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and of The Most Holy Rosary, White Lily of The Trinity and Vermilion Rose of Heaven to protect and guide in every way, subject to the Will of God. Amen ✞**

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen✞.

I read your post several days ago and just couldn’t get it off my mind. I’ve hesitated to respond since I am new to this forum and attending RCIA (as a refresher & for Confirmation). But I have read it every day since & all of the great responses too. I love the prayers that everyone has mentioned but I wanted to tell you that for me personally, (I have recently converted back!) that years ago, I had felt ‘discouraged’ too. I love to say this prayer as well as the ones mentioned. It always reminds me of how blessed I am and how very proud I am to be Catholic! 👍

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.

.

You are in my prayers and I sure hope this is helpful. What immediately made me think of you and The Apostle’s Creed was because of the title of your post as well as for the guilt you have been carrying over your sins. Instead of feeling guilty for your sins, remind yourself how blessed you are that you can be forgiven. Amen!
God Bless,
Piper

Has any of this been of benefit to you?

You are aware that you do not suffer this alone,
and that it does pass. (only to be replaced with the next one)

Just remember in every corner of this world, in Purgatory and in Heaven,
You have Catholic family that Love and support you.
and we do know what this feels like.

A nun once said to me.
“Remember in God’s plan, It’s all a mystery, especially in hardship,
these things are sent to us through His love, so that we may learn from them
and grow, you can be sure of that”.

when we pester God for the answers He doesn’t ignore us,
instead He says “Hush child, for you do not understand”
I think this life is designed for contemplation not explanation.
This modern world teaches that guilt is bad, but I say to you that guilt is a gift from God.
It is a way of proving that you are truly sorry for your sins.
Just don’t punish yourself, you confessed them and God has dealt with them.
Let it go, by trusting God’s word on forgiveness.
guilt stops a repeat performance.
maybe not the first time but eventually you will turn from those things and
trust in God’s forgiveness.

If you are low on Hope take ours, If your are low or depressed offer it to the Lord,
Blessed Mother Theresa felt the exact same feelings throughout her life, so did
many-many Saints, so you are not alone nor are you weak in life or faith. you are
being tested. when at school you were tested to check on how much knowledge you had.
Here you are tested to check the level at which your faith is sitting,
sometimes so that you can see an error and correct it yourself,
other times so Heaven can work out what your next lesson should be.
All these things are sent for LOVE OF YOU, so love these feelings, embrace them
and thank the Lord for these gifts.

Some people go through life feeling no guilt at all,
where do they stand with God, and where will they end up.
Remember it is because you love God and He LOVES YOU that you are blessed with these feelings.

Praying for you.
Pete.

im feeling discouraged , depressed and sometimes in denial. mostly due to my sins, finding it hard to have hope
Anyone with a conscience feels unworthy of God’s love and mercy especially when we think about our habitual sinning. God doesn’t love only those without sin, He loves everyone. We are all the Prodigal Son when we come back to Him after committing horrible sins and God accepts us each and every time we repent. Do yourself a favor: schedule some time with your parish priest and sit with him to discuss your fears and shame. Unburden yourself and give all your sins to God to be forgiven. Do your best not to sin but discipline yourself to confessing weekly until you get your bad habits under control. God Bless you.👍

one last thing.

Christ was slapped, spat on, punched, kneed, kicked, beaten, stabbed, flogged, they plucked His beard and ripped out his hair. they tried to humiliate Him, they striped Him in public (in front of His Blessed Mother) they drove metal spikes through his body, they mocked him and then they crucified Him.

And He responded to this by asking, “Forgive them Father, They know not what they do”.

I want you to look at the list above, those things done to God’s only Son,
now compare your sins to those.

Offer up your guilty and any other feelings like this.
"Dear Lord, I offer up my ability to suffer, so that you may be freed, in the tiniest way, of suffering for the sake of our sins. I ask you to allow me to take on the humiliation those men wanted you to feel on that day. I ask that I may be blessed by you to suffer the feeling of humiliation and depression of my own sins, in reparation for the unrepentant sinners everywhere.
I beg this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

This is offering to take on any Humiliation or depression etc. That He was meant to suffer on that day, so that He would not have to feel such things then because you offered to help him. (An act of love that He knew was offered and would have accepted back then).
ask yourself this, If you were their that day what would you have done to ease His suffering, what would you do to show Him that this is not all for nothing, that there is Hope.
Even though that Hope and love is being sent to Him from over 2000 years in the future. He is all knowing and knew of your offer before you were even born.

We are in the beginnings of the Christmas season, Pray the above prayer with all your heart and give Him the Gift of you and your love.

He died so that we may have Hope, don’t ever allow yourself to lose hope.

God Bless, my friend,
Pete.

Asking for Humiliation and Depression IS NOT GOD’S
WILL for us! He suffered so that we can have life and
life to it’s full!! We are able to face any negative things
of life because WE ARE PART OF his Body and He
and we all share those negative things TOGETHER as
a Team!!!

Praying for you…

*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. *Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen

St. Thérèse of Liseux Prayer From “Story of A Soul”

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen. †

Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.
Your love surpasses all fear.
I give you the anxiety I feel.
I surrender all my worries to you.
Clear my mind;
Calm my heart;
Still my Spirit;
Relax my being, that, I may
always glorify you in everything
I write, speak and do.

Amen. †

Jesus, Help Me

In every need let me come to Thee with humble trust, saying,
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations,
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials,
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles and sorrows,
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good come from my efforts,
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Thy grace alone can assist me,
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Thy tender love as Father and Savior,
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me,
Jesus, help me!

When sickness and loneliness overcome me,
Jesus, help me!

Always, in weakness, falls and shortcomings of every kind,
Jesus, help me and never forsake me.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen. †

Sweet Heart of Jesus, be my love.
Sweet Heart of my Jesus, grant that I may always love You more.
Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, set our hearts on fire with love of You.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like Your Heart.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.
