Discouraged and asking for prayers

Hello prayer warriors,
I have not been over here to pray in a bit. I am sorry, but I felt too tired and discouraged to pray for a short while.

I feel bad asking for prayers when so many other people, including flood victims, people dealing with terminally ill loved ones, the unemployed, etc. have it much worse than I do. I’m just a little worn down. Have had 3 deaths in the family since March, in addition one of my dear cats had to be put to sleep, and a seemingly endless cycle of home repairs is going on. I also miss my own deceased parents and grandmother very much as the recent deaths probably triggered some emotion there.

I felt so tired and spiritually disconnected that I barely made it to Mass on Sunday. I forced myself to go because I did not want to have to wait several days to go to confession (I doubt I could have found any place offering it till Thursday) and missing Mass was a serious problem for me for years, so I do not want to fall back into bad habits and I do not want to be committing and confessing the same sin over and over. I did (just) get to the last available one on Sunday. I feel like the devil does not like me trying to pray more and live a better life and that he has stepped up his efforts to get me to fall down. It probably didn’t help that I fell off the wagon of taking my iron pills for anemia treatment, which is also a past bad habit of mine that leads to a lot of other bad things.

This board will soon be gone and I don’t know how many prayer threads will transfer over, but I’d appreciate it if a few people could just say one Hail Mary for me or whatever other little thing they could do. I hope this isn’t too much of a bother. I will in turn try to get back to praying for everybody else too. Thank you in advance.

May you be filled with loving kindness. May you be well. May you be peaceful and at ease. May you be happy. Be comfortable with change.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless, and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments, we might not despair nor become despondent,
but with great confidence, submit ourselves to your holy will,
which is Love and Mercy itself.
Amen.

Anytime 🥀

So sorry for your losses.

One of the kelpies was hit by a vehicle yesterday. He had to be pts. We grieve for pets too.

Praying the Rosary for you.

It does seem that everything goes bad at the same time. Maybe God wants it that way so we can get it all out the way at one time and enjoy some peace before the next time everything goes bad. Imagine if bad things happened everyday in a slow drip, drip, manner with no days of peace. We’d go mad. At least that’s what I like to think when life takes a dive.

I’m sorry to hear this, but most of us can understand as we are all there at various times. Never belittle yourself in asking for prayer- our Lord and His Blessed Mother delight answering us when we come to them. By doing so we take our eyes of ourselves and turn to Him. What you are getting most definately is " push back" from the evil one- you are right on that! I prayed for you:pray:t2::pray:t2::pray:t2:

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do thou, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God cast into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

I enjoy so many of your posts, I hate to hear you down in the dumps… :o

We can’t make it on our own. We need God’s grace in our lives. We need the Sacraments continually to heal us. We need the Church. When we feel worn down it is ok to get some rest and Rest in the Lord’s peace. And pray for God’s wisdom and peace. Wisdom is thinking about the big things like God, heaven and hell. Prudence is living your life and making decisions with wisdom in mind. Because of our fallen natures there is a war with our passions that we need grace to overcome. If your parents and grandparents are up in heaven then they are praying for you to join them some day. If they are in Purgatory then they would benefit from your prayers. Either way would they want you to give up and throw away your hope of joining them in heaven some day? Would they want you to throw away your hope for the beatific vision where we will see God as he is and see as he knows, at least as much as we can with our limited capacity? Where we will see as much as we can how God’s plan unfolded in our lives and our loved ones how ultimately everything even our suffering worked for ours and others best?

Praying for your intention. God bless.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon Tis Bearself in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

Prayer Against Depression
………….By St Ignatius of Loyola

O Christ Jesus
When all is darkness
And we feel our weakness and helplessness,
Give us the sense of Your Presence,
Your Love and Your Strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
In Your protecting love
And strengthening power,
So that nothing may frighten or worry us,
For, living close to You,
We shall see Your Hand,
Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.

Amen.

Let Nothing Disturb You

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.

Patience,
Obtains all things,
Whoever has God
Lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.
