Isn’t NC something like the 32nd state to vote against gay marriage? Why discriminate just against North Carolina?

30th state, according to the Fox News article I saw on it.

The whole discrimination arguement is a farce!! There is NO discrimination at all Marriage is not a “right” What other rights do you need to get a license for??? NONE. Civilly speaking, The State grants one the privilage, just like with a drivers licence, hunting licence, even a plumber has to have a licence! Until someone with some fortitude steps up and explains that fact and reasons behind the State being involved in the first place, I narrative will continue to framed in such a way as to color those of us who believe in the traditional definition, as well as the definition God laid out for us, we will continue to labeled as Bigots and haters! Emotion is used instead of facts and reason because facts and reason are not on their side!!:banghead:

Now they are really upset that NC supports “bigotry” and think they should move the Democratic National Convention to another state.
In this case, “they” seem to be nothing but a Facebook page titled Gay Marriage USA. I have no idea who is behind the Facebook page, or if that person (or persons) has any influence beyond their online presence.

The Democratic National Convention is not going to be moved at this point. Planning for such a large gathering takes months of work and coordination with multiple businesses, government agencies and thousands of individuals.

And even if it were possible to move the convention, doing so would need a more compelling reason than an online petition “signed” by persons whose identities or existences as real individuals can not be easily confirmed, if at all. Online petitions have no influence on decision making by authorities. They exist simply to soak up emotion and make the signers feel like their voice has been heard. However, the only persons listening are the other signers and the person who sponsored the petition.

An additional reason for sponsoring such a petition is to harvest email addresses. The compiled mailing list, along with any additional personal information the signer provides, can then be sold to outside organizations who are fundraising and looking for new donors.
