There may not have been any characters who were obviously homosexual in his early work. But the directors/writers/producers who carry on work today in his name–his Disney “disciples”, so to speak–have been entrusted to continue as he would have.

This is going beyond slander. So not only is Disney gay, but he trained disciples to strategically release gay material once the gay rights movement took off??

For Catholics, presenting a homosexual as a normal couple is always over the top and scandalous.

You totally didn’t answer the question. I didn’t say not to censor what your children watch, I asked what do you say when a child comes home from school and lets you know that his friend has 2 dads, or why 2 ladies are holding hands at the ticket line. We can’t censor real life. Are we supposed to not allow kids to make friends or to go to the movies? There will most definitely come a day when a child will see a gay couple, no matter how much you try to censor what they watch.
Also, asking what a parent would say in a certain setting and comparing it to porn is a big leap.

There is very actually little difference between pornography and a same sex couple in that they are both depraved, self seeking and without any sort of redeeming quality.

As far as censoring what our children see we are certainly called to do that until they are old enough to reason, notwithstanding New Age concepts.

As far as explaining evil to my children, that is part of life but we are not supposed to seek it out, on the contrary.

Seeing a gay couple on TV/in real life and watching porn are totally different. :rolleyes:

You are confused, I do not despise anyone, after all I am a sinner.

Nonetheless, God abhors homosexuality and will judge us if we do not stand up to the gay lobby, as the Pope calls it. As I have enough sins to worry about, including lust, I see no reason to add more misery to my condition. Paz.

It is different. Seeing a gay person/couple walking down the street/in one little scene on TV and looking up porn is TOTALLY different. There is no sin on you for seeing a person who is living in sin. It is most definitely a sin to pop open your laptop and go to a porn website. If you can’t see the difference I suggest you talk to your priest.

Making pornography and promoting homosexuality as normal are both very serious sins and similar in that they are depraved and abhorred by God.
 
As a member of the younger generation, and a Disney fan myself, I can say the five pages of this thread are the most Ive really heard about the Disney channel in a LONG time. Kind of forget its still around sometimes. haha :o

I imagine you’re not young enough to be part of the target demographic. The prime time target demo is 9-14, with daytime programming aimed at even younger children. Most people I know who keep up with the programming are parents of young children.

As stated in my first post I don’t agree with SSM. I don’t see a little scene as promoting a lifestyle. It would be different if the show’s main characters were in a SSM. Watching porn vs. watching a scene that was just an introduction of people are very different. I’m done with this little convo.

I am not equating watching pornography vs watching homosexual couples, that is the cause of your confusion.
