In my past I had met a couple of different guys online and chatted with them quite a bit, one even by phone (two separate instances here) and I was going to meet the guy and maybe continue with a relationship if things went well. I can’t believe that such had ever happened. I never went through with any of them but I’d say the intent was there at least to some extent. I had very vaguely confessed a couple of these instances and I chalked it up to near occasions of sin. I can’t remember what my level of culpability was, if I really understood or not because of how long ago it was. Any advice? This is part of why I developed Scrupulosity.

What exactly about these relationships made you think you had to go to confession for them? I’m not seeing anything in your post that sounds sinful at all. If you are scrupulous, you should seek the advice of a good priest who can direct you, and not strangers on the internet, whose many and varied opinions might only be a further cause of worry.

Because I am also a male.

I see. It wasn’t clear to me, my apologies. I thought perhaps the issue was that the relationships began online and it was more of a question of scruples.

That said, if you’ve confessed, your sins are forgiven. Do not dwell on this any further. That will only increase your scrupulosity. And make sure you’re seeking assistance from a good priest for your scrupulosity.

I never really mentioned it explicitly in Confession but mentioned things about near occasions of sin, planning sin, the thing is - they weren’t relationships- just talking.

It was a long time ago. You mentioned it in confession, you were absolved of any sins you may have committed. I would let it go. If you keep agonizing over this, it will only cause you further trouble. Look at the difference between this post and your first one. In your OP, you title it “disordered relationships,” but now say you didn’t have relationships. In your OP, you said you vaguely confessed, and now you say you didn’t explicitly confess. I’m not trying to call you out here, but just to show you what this kind of anxiety can do to you–it runs you in circles and makes you unsure of yourself. Just let go of this line of thinking and be at peace.

And see a priest for help with your scrupulosity.

I would go to Confession and tell the priest everything you’ve told us here - letting him know how you thought your previous Confessions were incomplete. Then when he absolves you, you will know for certain the incidents have now been confessed properly, and you can put this worry and anxiety behind you. Also you will receive the sacramental graces of Confession.

ive had the problem of meeting woman from online in person, with probably bad intentions, the main reason why you rpobably did it because you enjoy the rush of the darkness involved, st. augustine explained that when he pursued evil, such as stealing, it wasnt the act that he liked it was the process and such… whenever you actually meet up with someone you dontw ant to live wiht forever without faith based relationship, you realize its wrong, and the entire thing is such time wasted, as for your sexuality issue, i cant say anything other than sin is sin whether its stealing, homosexuality, or somethign else
