I live in southern California and last week someone stoled my McCain /Palin bumper sticker off my car during the day at a store parking lot. Last night I got a nasty threat like letter put on my car because I have Yes on Prop8 Protect Traditional Marriage. In the letter they called me intolerant and that they are going to be a captain at the polling place. I don’t care and I actually doubled my signs on my front lawn that night. My friend got their sign stolen from their bedroom window and another friend got theirs stolen from their front lawns. So I drop off more signs for them to display. If Obama/ Biden wins we will get our freedoms taken away from us. Why not exercise our rights while we still have them! My wife and soon to be teenage daughter volunteered at the Republican headquarters in our area, calling people to vote yes onProp8 and Prop4 and vote for McCain/ Palin. Don’t be afraid!

I think displaying our pro-life signs can give others courage to be more vocal, and to speak out when they are faced with a pro-life dilema. You never know how our quiet words against abortion can touch another. We have read on this board many times how a nursing mom in church can give the young mom, new to nursing, courage to nurse her hungry baby. Perhaps my pro-life stickers on my 15 passenger van will let a mother expecting her 4th, 5th or 6th child, it will be okay. Or the young voter may think twice about their values.

I also see myself as a walking billboard for pro-life…come on…I have 8 children and drive a “church bus” for a family vehicle. The sticker is a bit redundant! I’ll get anti-life comments no matter what, so I just want to make myself perfectly clear to others. 😛

I AM pro-life. I make no excuses.

I LOVE God. I do not deny it.

I live my faith. I want to make sure people can tell by my actions first, my bumper stickers second.

I do protect my children though. I will not take my teenage son down to the abortion mill. There is a nutter woman who yells at all young men and fathers. She blames men for the horror of abortion and yells very vulgar things. I’ll take him with me in a year or two. I want him to be fully prepared when he enters the lion’s den. For now, I think he’s still too young for some of the things she yells. She leaves the little babies alone 🤷 My little ones come with me. 🙂

I’ve always had a “Choose Life” tag on my car… and I don’t think I’ve had any negative reactions (not sure if some aggressive driving around me is reactive to that or not???)…
I also have a McCain sticker on my car…
Actually, just last week I had a post-it note on my driver’s side window that was hand written “Thank you for choosing the party that stands up for righteous. God weeps for the unborn victims of abortion.”
So that counts as a positive in my book! 👍

Just my experience… I’m proud to display my pro-life tag! 😃

What do you mean by “tag”? Not a bumper sticker I assume…
License Plate. Many states print different license plates at the request of different groups. You pay more for them, and part of the $$ goes to support that cause.

In my state, you can get

Choose Life 👍
Wildlife Conservation
University Alumni
Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon

I’m sure there are others, those are what I see the most of.

Hmmmm…I’ve just spent some time on google because I am having a vague recollection of our lovely government restricting what could be put on a personalized plate (we don’t have choices for the base)…of course, against pro-lifers. But maybe I am imagining it as I can’t find anything on the net:shrug:

Not from my province, but here is what I am talking about. You guys are very lucky to have free speech. We apparently don’t…well, that is unless you are a liberal:rolleyes:

What drives Sorrill even madder is the licensing office’s further rejection of anything that hints of religion.
When she called yesterday to test-drive other ideas, she got a red light on “REVRNDJO” because it promotes her faith.
“I cannot have anything that denotes I am a Christian,” she fumes.
Personalized plates can be rejected for references to drugs, alcohol, religion, sex and racism, ministry spokesperson Bob Nichols said.
**“The ministry has taken this position because licence plates are constantly in the public eye and will be seen by members of the public to be `government-approved’ choices.” **
The objection to “REV JO” on religious grounds, he adds, is that it “**may leave the impression that the ministry and government as a whole favours organized religion with a Christian base.” **

In our state, one has the option of plain regular plates…

Specialized Plates

arkansas.gov/dfa/motor_vehicle/mv_plates.php

Or Personalized Plates (AKA Vanity Tags) - that is where you pick the letters/numers to go on a regular plate “CUTEGAL” “JESUS4U” - yes, our state permits religious stuff on vainty tags.

I have republican stickers on my car, and yard signs.

However when I was in college, I didn’t put stuff on my car because it was new and all the College Republicans who had stickers on their cars got their cars keyed.

I’m not so worried now…the car is old, and the area I live in is pretty conservative. Our Yard signs haven’t been bothered, and neither have anyone elses.

In my current state of thinking, I would say you acted prudently. But I know there are those who would say that you put the value of your car higher than the value of your beliefs…🤷

I had a bumper sticker that said CHOICE = A MOTHER’S “RIGHT” TO KILL HER BABY. My job was being threatned. I got there are more of us than you comments.

Here is an inspiring story of how one simple bumper sticker saved a baby’s life: rockforlife.org/action_tellyourprolifestory.php?storyID=82 We never know who’s looking for a “sign” from God about their decision to abort or keep their baby.

Malia, if you’re in a very liberal area maybe you can consider something with more of a “friendly” feel to it? Not something militant-sounding such as “Pro-Choice is Pro-DEATH!” you know? But more like, “I am happy your Mom chose life! :)” or one of those stickers about being pro-life and “loving them both” (mom and baby). Or maybe even something neutral like “If it’s not a baby, you’re not pregnant.”

I have a pro-life tag and 2 bumper stickers, one promoting organ donation I got while I was still in college and one that DH picked out saying “Headed in the wrong direction? God allows U-turns!” I also have a Miraculous Medal window decal as well as a JPII decal. Hubby has a pro-life tag and McCain sticker we got from National Right to Life, as well as a St. Benedict’s Medal window decal (his patron Saint). We both have rosaries hanging in our cars that get frequent use. 👍

Em, I love your story! Makes me want to keep some post-its in my car for whenever we park beside someone with a good sticker! 🙂

I’m sure some would say that, but I didn’t really want F**king Republican Nazi keyed into my truck. The president of the College republicans had that happen to her car, and her rear tire popped.

I find it funny that by far and away more conservative people get their property vandalized when they publically display their views, than Liberals. It’s interesting. When they do it to us…it’s expressing their views, but it we do it to them it’s violating free speech.

We do have a McCain sign on our front lawn as do several houses on our block (only one Obama).

The Christmas cards I have sent out the last five years or so have a pro-life message and the back of the cards say that they are
to help a pro-life organization.

🙂

This is the work of a criminal. If it had been me, and that happened to my car on school property, I’d have worked within the school system to make sure the campus was free from vandalism.

We strive to teach our kids to stand up for what they believe in! So, we do have political signs in our yard. We have pro-life bumper stickers as well as political ones.

A couple of things - Our kids don’t wear certain brand clothes or drink certain products because of the money the companies give to Planned Parenthood. We tell the kids that our "boycott"of these items are not going to put any companies out of business. But, we are taking a stance. They understand that.

Another thing - a friend had a bumper sticker on her car that quoted Mother Teresa - saying something like, It is a poverty that a child must die so that we may live as we wish - This friend had a neighbor stop them and comment what a positive impact that bumper sticker had on her choice to choose life for her baby.
