Having many Anglican friends, I say they deserve better. But given that the Anglicans took Matthew Fox, it’s probably inevitable they may be stuck with him.

I have to agree that it’s an upsetting turn of events, but had the Bishop done nothing, it would have been much more upsetting.

If he feels the need to go to the Anglican Church… don’t let the door hit ya. BTW: Women who hear the calling can fully participate in the Church… as Nuns.

Also… that homo priest needs to go too since he considers himself gay. This makes the Church look very bad IMO 😦

Makes one think that this homo priest is so PROUD to proclaim to the world that he’s gay! You don’t proclaim something if you think it’s wrong or abnormal. Obviously, this priest think it’s very normal to be gay and you wonder why the Vatican is so strict on disallowing gay men to enter the priesthood! Being gay and hiding it cuz it’s bad is one thing but to proclaim loudly is another thing. Even priests who molest children or have affairs don’t speak so loudly. Whoever question the wisdom of the Vatican should take a moment and think it out!
 
:yup: Because if parishoners see a Priest sin or not listen to the Vatican… they’ll assume its ok for them too. 😦

A proper priest (of the Roman rite at least) would have no need to proclaim his sexuality (heterosexual, homosexual, autosexual… whatever) as he’d be called to be chaste anyway. Personal sexuality in a priest should be a non-issue and something to be kept from the public if he were adhering to his vows (not counting other rites who allow marriages).

There’s no sure way to know what priest will adhere to his vows because any can fall from grace but you wouldn’t hear a priest proclaiming that he has an affair or molest children. Who would be so foolish to show his sins. But a homo priest… the culture today thinks it’s normal so a priest proclaiming that he’s gay is nothing sinful. That would give scandal to the Church. What to do? Don’t take any chances with homo priest into the seminary. It may be unfair for some sincere gay priest but…:nope:

There is a big difference between knowing and not knowing the moral flaw of a person entering the seminary from the beginning.
