I’m not sure how anyone can say that Mormons or Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Christians. They believe in the Bible.
Believing in the Bible does not make one a Christian. A valid Trinitarian baptism does. (That’s why validly baptised babies are Christians, even though they can’t read the Bible. Same with validly baptised illiterate people.)

The Vatican has been asked about the validity of Mormon baptism. Here is the decision:

Maybe they have a different view of Christ, but who’s to say the Holy Spirit is not guiding their interpretation of the Bible? Can anyone say that authoritatively? (Besides the obvious!) They have the Bible and faith in God and the Holy Spirit will guide them into all truth.
Their Christology is completely different than that of historical Christianity. Depending on which one you’re looking at, they say that God the Father was a man, and that Jesus is less than divine and the brother of archangel St. Michael, etc. And did you know that Mormons are polytheistic? They believe in many gods. In many ways, they are really a modernized version of the ancient heresy of Arianism.
Just as every other Protestant “knows” that his or her denomination/interpretation is really “correct.” Who’s to say which doctrines and beliefs are so central and necessary that to deny it makes one a heretic, or a cult?
As Catholics, we believe that the Magisterium does.

Mormons don’t believe in the Bible anyhow. they read it but believe many parts of it are worng. How is that believing in it?

Pesudo-Protestants? why not just the long time used “cult”
I agree. Christians are christians. JW, mormons, scientologist, unitarians etc, etc are anti-christian cults.

Danger, Danger !!! Calling all true christians:eek: Return home to the Catholic church!! You are in danger of being sucked into the evil cults of the world.!!!

Come home! Come home!!!

🙂

Catholics have an answer for that. Protestants really don’t. They think they do… but they have no real authority for thinking that.
‘RC’s’ or ‘protestants’ have The Bible, The Creeds and 2000 years of Church History to back them up. Mormons, JW’s etc have a ‘prophet’ who came up with his own thing contrary to The Bible, The Creeds and 2000 years of Church History. That is the differance.

Fred, Fred, Fred,

Do you really think that not believing in the Divinity of Jesus Christ is a small thing? Or that perhaps it doesn’t distinguish the christians from the anti-christ?
You brush over this pivitol point like it was immaterial. It is precisely the reason that JW, mormons, scientologist, unitarians etc etc are not christians. They are in fact anti-christ.
They might call themselves christians! But that’s the equivalent of Osama Bin Laden calling himself a peace loving muslim and advocating violence. JW’s, momo’s et al call themselves christians while denying the divinity of Christ.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
