I have heard of both divine law and ecclesiastical law. I know the difference between these these types of law. I’ve heard that divine law is comprised of natural law and positive law. I don’t understand the difference. Can anyone please tell me what is the difference between natural divine law and positive divine law?

Natural law (which is divine) is the law that God writes on each of our hearts, that every human being knows intuitively, e.g., murder is wrong.

Positive divine law is communicated from God to mankind via revelation, whether in Old Testament times or from the Incarnation. For example, no servile work on the Sabbath is an example of positive divine law.

Thanks for that info. So, positive divine law is revealed to us through the sacred deposit of the faith: sacred scripture and sacred tradition and interpreted by the magisterium. Natural law is more or less what it says.
