Does anybody have a link for the Ukrainian text of the Divine Liturgy as used in the Ukrainian Catholic Church? Thanks.

jj,

I used to have a link, but can’t find it presently. But, see Divine Liturgy Booklet in English and Ukrainian. If you’re interested in any of those mentioned and can’t locate the websites, let me know. I think I have all of them.

Many years,

Neil

addendum: An unofficial edition on the wonderful website of the UGCC parish in Austria.
Thanks, that’s a real refresher course in liturgical Ukrainian. I often wonder how comprehensible Church Slavonic is to people whose vernacular is Ukrainian or Russian.

Endings differ, but most of the roots are the same, not incomprehensible with only a year of Russian in college. Slow, but not incomprehensible.

Growing up as a child of Ukrainian immigrants, I didn’t realize there was a difference at first, and often used Old Slavonic forms in speaking to my parents.

I learned Slavonic (or rather, the responses) in Slavonic first. Ukrainian is just enough like Slavonic to keep me in a state of stimulating uncertainty.
