I know I have a Eastern Rite videos thread, but this one is special and deserves its own thread. Sometime last year, UGCC priest Fr. Olexander Kenez from Australia was invited by the RC Bishop of Hong Kong to do a talk on Eastern Christianity and to celebrate a Divine Liturgy in Cantonese. Fr. Olexander decided to integrate the Chinese culture into the Liturgy.

This is the video of the Liturgy.

I like that they chose to use the ‘royal yellow’ silk on the portable iconostasis. Quite appropriate.

I like the first comment on the video: “The Iconatosis is so colorful and very engaging.”

With prayers and the Will of God (manifest through generous donations) those polyester ponchos can be replaced, and the exteriors be sanctified. Until then we must make due with and sanctify what we have. May God bless these priests for bringing this rite to Hong-Kong (albeit briefly)!
