oh my goodness…

for all the prayer requests I sent up to heaven requesting that God protect me and my family from the madness of my (ex)husband’s adultery that included delusions of him and the girlfriend being brought together by God, prayers of the Rosary and Divine Mercy, etc

in my fervent recent prayers, I explained to God that my ex is empowered by all of the prayers/requests and intentions that seem to have been answered and

I begged Father God to protect my broken, battered family from more insanity by not allowing the divorce to be signed on the feast of St Therese or Our Lady of the Rosary so that my ex and his ladybird wouldn’t be convinced that God condones their actions (should the divorce had been signed on one of those feasts which they hold so dear)

I was so grateful that the divorce was signed off by the judge on October 5th.

And I just found out that October 5th is the feast of St Faustina…

uggghhh and yuck…I feel like I asked for a fish and was handed a snake…

I don’t even know how I will set foot in church later. I have never been so disgusted in my life.

Your WILL set foot in the Church because She alone holds all Truth and Trust in Her to the end because God alone sees ALL and it depends not on special feast days but HIS TRUE LIGHT which will shine on all of us. TRUST my dear on HIS divine will and TRUTH… He will NEVER let His Truth be compromised. Abandon these thoughts and turn them to Jesus askiing HIm to fill your mind and heart with HIM and to bring you His healing with forgiveness for ALL. (Hard, yes extremely hard as it is you MUST forgive and place this on the altar for Him to work) I encourage you to go to Adoration and listen to our Lord. HE very much desires to bring you healing from all of this. Focus your view on HIM ALONE and don’t entertain any other those other thoughts. Place your whole trust and love in Jesus, your Savior and King and Husband, faithful to the END!!! Praise God!

My love and prayers,
mlz

It must be about 15. Years since I went through what your now going through,
If I ever had to say anything to my EX it would be to thank her for leaving,
Be Strong ,things really do get better once you part company with the mud on your shoes,
And pray to God in tn thanks as well that a huge burden is being lifted from your shoulders

Perhaps any sign of Divine Mercy isn’t for him, it’s for you.

Have Faith in The Lord and I will pray for you and your family.

God Bless

Very good advise from the other posters, I would like to add that. Yes you prayed, fasted, pleaded with GOD that your husband would not go through with this. But remember each of us have free will. We can choose to reject GOD by doing what is abhorrent to HIM.
All evil comes from within us.

What you really need now is to remove that serpent from your soul and the only way it will happen is by forgiving him. You have to excise any hatred, animosity, ill will toward them. Then you will be free.
Keep praying for him/them ask GOD and our mother to help you with this.
Peace be with you.

Hi MamaJewel, to be honest I believe you are both being a bit superstitious given the day the divorce was signed off, there are dozens of Saint’s days, chances are it could fall on one. Nevertheless, I don’t know how he could see the Church or Christ blessing it given that he can’t re-marry in a Catholic Church (without an annulment) and what the Gospels and Church say about it.

Furthermore, regarding the idea that God is always blessing those who simply have good fortune in this life, Christianity I believe immediately affronts that idea with the Crucifixion of Christ.

I hope this has helped

God Bless

Please don’t fret that the divorce papers were signed on 10/5. It would be superstitious to think that it was in any way an approval from God. Don’t despair and don’t get discouraged. If 10/5 has any significance at all it is to remind you to Trust in Jesus! Keep your faith and go to Mass. God loves you.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, I was dealing with some serious betrayal on many levels, 15 years ago also. It darn near killed me a few years later when I found out about it.The priest (and parish) I had at the time was hostile and didn’t help the situation. (The Church scandal that was going on at that time didn’t help the situation either.)

However, shortly after I found out, I had the chance to do a number of sessions with a decent Catholic counselor and those sessions started me on my journey of healing to where I am today. (Ex refused counselling)

That said, this is not a good situation that I am facing. Ex and I have many children together and for some of my kids, it’s the final nail in the proverbial coffin with their relationship to Christianity.

So, I do agree with you that I will be better off. I already am in the sense of how much I’ve already moved forward. It’s just sickening to watch my children turn away from God because the words they’ve heard preached from the church, family, etc don’t match the actions. They think that religion is about manipulating people in the name of God and that sacramentals are a part of that game, too.

mlz,

You were right, I did set foot in church and enjoyed Mass immensely. Happy and blessed to be there and lit a candle for some deceased dear friends.

Peace,

MamaJewel

I don’t necessarily think it was an approval from God, ex and ladybird do think so. And it makes them even more self-righteous and justified in their behaviors from their perspectives.

All I did was beg God to let those divorce papers be signed on a different day because of their attitudes. Please understand, his girlfriend threatened to kill my distraught young adult daughter (during a phone call) two years ago. When the girlfriend realized it wasn’t me, but dear daughter genuinely pleading to speak to her father, the girlfriend said the threat was meant for me.

Needless to say, the father/daughter relationship is still strained.

I trust in Jesus. I know what He suffered, why and how that story ends. That isn’t the problem.
As far as faith goes, I called out to God for spiritual protection for my children and myself. I just don’t want the delusion fed anymore. Things are bad enough for us already.

Thanks for your reply. Maybe I wasn’t clear in my original post. I don’t know how or why they see it as blessed other than they consistently get what they request through praying the rosary and Divine Mercy together. (Some of my young adult kids have received inadvertent texts with intentions that were sent from their dad for the girlfriend. Sure enough, on many they got what they requested and it was to the detriment of the family. Heck, even the state aided and abetted in the shenanigans. just saying.)

But their belief that God has ordained and condones their behavior is what led me to beg God to have the judge signed the divorce papers on a day that wouldn’t be seen as a sign by them. They can be unmerciful to me and the kids. Like I mentioned to another poster, I don’t want the delusion being fed.

If I had known about the St Faustina feast date, I would have added it to my prayers.
It’s just the shock of having believed God answered my prayer, only to find out that I was mistaken. Me and my family, we don’t need any more misery at the ex’s or ladybird’s hands.

.
With all due respect, God knew it was St Faustina’s feast date and He let it go through. God knows what He is doing.

I understand you are hurt and want to protect your children but… Your ex has left. You can not concern your self with his attitudes, thoughts and feelings. If your ex mistakenly believes the divorce papers being signed are a sign from God, let him have his opinion. Go on with your life and don’t worry about his attitude

OP, oh, my heart goes out to you.

I’ve walked in your shoes. A broken heart is the WORST pain - ever.

I was (invalidly) “married” to my very own Judas who betrayed me and hurt me - and yet I never knew the extent of his betrayal until after he left. It was the worst nightmare and it really happened. I faced it, my heart in shreds, I drank too much, I cried on the floor. I was a mess… but now? You couldn’t pay me a million dollars to take that man back.

It’s an old adage, and cliche, but so true: time heals all wounds. I remember, as I wept in a hospital, a health care clinician told me something I will never forget: “There are bigger fish out there. You’ll find a bigger fish.”

Over time, I wondered why God put me through such trials. But the thing is… the pain of a broken heart, as awful as it is, makes us stronger. God wants us to be strong. The enemy wants us to fall.

And yes, your ex is a jerk and you are worth so much more and deserve so much better.
There are bigger fish out there. When or if you are ready, you can go fishin’. And JESUS will always love you and never forsake you.

With my prayers,
GW

Thank you for your kind words. At this point, I’ve put up with so much madness and betrayal throughout my life that I could care less if I find someone else. I have a lot of kids and a grandchild, so I am already spread thin in the time department. It’s a struggle to get my time alone with God, so there likely won’t be any significant others in my near future. My life is going to be about me for awhile. I have a lot of work to do to heal.

I do have a wise counselor who said that what I am experiencing and have experienced in the past with ex indicates spiritual abuse. I’m not to happy to hear that, but it does make sense. The counselor recommended that I step back and re-frame the religious aspects of my life. This is going to be one very interesting process.

Right now, Jesus is all I got to hold on to.

I wish I could just “go on with my life”. However, my existence is still very enmeshed with his and his attitudes and thoughts on various issues still greatly impact me and our children. I spent more than 6 years of my life pregnant with his babies and 11 years of my life as a nursing mother. I’ve worked for free as a SAHM (think Family Systems Theory) providing childcare, education, housework, yada, yada to the family unit, while he focused on advancing his career to provide for the family. Plus I have a physical disability that prevents me from jumping with both feet into the workforce.

I’ve been out of the workforce for over 20 years, I live in a rural community, and I have a physical challenge that keeps me from doing the “typical” jobs that middle-age divorcees who raised a family and built hubby’s career land after the final dissolution. From the perspective of many people, I am a walking (rather limping) poster child as to “why” women shouldn’t follow church teaching on contraception. Marriages end and spouses become ex’s. No need to have sacrificed for nothing according to the world’s (and unfortunately, my local diocesan) perspective. Women are supposed to stay out of such a position of weakness like the one I am in.

But…
I am blessed to be in college with the help of vocational training. I’m doing well so far and will have the chance for an internship to land employment. And I definitely have the skill sets from all the years running a household to be valuable to the workforce.

I just need for ex to quit using God as a reason to shirk his parts of the marital settlement. The house is in major disrepair and needs an overhaul. He threatens me with not paying tithes or the mortgage when I push for repairs (like he agreed to do).

So, until I am financially independent, I am very much at ex’s mercy. And it isn’t pretty. At least he doesn’t threaten me with “losing” his job anymore. It’s been awhile since I heard that threat. I had told him that if he lost his job, I would just have to go to school and piecemeal work at my former college (45 miles away). He’d have to live off of unemployment at the house with the kids, doing what I do for free each day, while I sent what little minimum wage earnings I got from workstudy, etc. towards child support. He had no response to that message and he is still employed.

But seriously, this is a major hot mess I have on my hands. However, I do appreciate your genuine concern.

Many prayers for you, this sounds very difficult and all consuming.

Do you need to have contact with him? If so for how long? Is it possible to reduce the amount of his drivel you need to listen to? I wouldn’t put any effort into deciding what God has or has not done for him. It sounds like he is yanking your chain and quite enjoying it.

Don’t give him the power. Easy to say, I know, but I think you’ll do better if you do not speculate about his life at all.

Again, I will pray for you.

Exactly what my counselor said. Counselor told me to have very limited contact with him, keep it strictly kids and business when I do make contact and get all necessary paperwork together for court because it’s heading that way.

Thanks for your concern and for your prayers.

Peace.
