When we pray “…I offer you the body and blood, soul and divinity of…” I have the faith, of course, that it’s all correct, but I’d like to understand.

How can we offer God the father something that isn’t ours? Is it that we’re offering the Holy Eucharist? If so, then we shouldn’t be receiving it, right? Is it that we’re sacrificing any benefit to ourselves that the Eucharist would confer upon us so that we can have God direct those benefits to the remission of “…our sins and those of the whole world”? Are we merely praying along with God the son that his sacrifice of his “…body and blood, soul and divinity…” will remit the sins of mankind?

Sorry to split hairs. I’m just one of those precision guys.😊

BTW, how do I close a thread, discussion, post, or whatever you call it? It may help keep the clutter down if I do so and not confuse people.

Only Moderators can close threads and they only close threads when there is a HUGE problem, like people being nasty, breaking forum rules, and general chaos. 😃

Once it drops off the sidebar, few people will notice it, unless they are subscribed, in which case, I will also unsubscribe.
God bless.
