Divine Mercy Chaplet Question

If one is indisposed at 3PM (e.g., in a meeting, taking a test, driving a car) is it permissible to say the Divine Mercy Chaplet at another time of the day?
 
Dear Lucy, Yes - pray the chaplet any time, at all times. Pray while you’re driving, eating, between meetings, walking, always - everywhere.

Pray constantly!!!

Why not? Actually, I was under the impression that Jesus asked us to do the stations of the cross at 3 PM, or at least have a moment of thoughtful silence at 3 PM.

In my case, I am lucky enough that I clock in at work (USPS) at 3 PM. We may or may not have a safety talk. After that is a long walk from where I clock in to my assignment in the Opening Unit. Yup, I can get in one complete recitation of the chaplet in that walk.
 
Just remember, at the stroke of the hour, it’s going to be 3pm somewhere in the world.

Everything is ‘now’ to God. Past, present and future are all ‘right now’ to Him. That is why, during mass, Our Lord’s sacrifice can be ‘re-presented’. With this in mind, it is always the hour of His death, always the hour of His resurrection…

So in short, as the previous poster said, you can pray it at any time. As far as the promises He made about saying it at 3pm, I would need to consult St. Faustina’s diary before offering comment there…
 
Say it any time. I am usually not able to say it at 3:00, as I am usually still teaching my students at that time. I do, however, try to say a very brief prayer, like Lord Have Mercy, or some such thing. When I do have time to say it, I tell the Lord, “Ok, let’s just pretend I’m in another time zone.” It’s gotta be 3:00 somewhere!😛
 
Even EWTN broadcasts the Divine Mercy on radio an hour later than the TV one. So no, the hour isn’t critical. As someone pointed out, St Faustina was told to pray it constantly.
 
Our Lord said to (then, now Saint) Sister Faustina, “At three o’clock implore My Mercy especially for sinners; and if only for a brief moment immerse yourself in My Passion…”
Do the best you can… only takes about 30 seconds to say the prayer… if that is the only “brief moment” have, it is the “brief moment” you have…

Not as far as I’m aware - the sites would mention if it was. Although Divine Mercy Sunday is an indulgenced day.

Give it a little time though, I’m sure it will be.
 
We say the Divine Mercy before we go to sleep at night - it’s a lovely way to end the day.

The OP is asking about the Divine Mercy Chaplet. I pray that every day and it takes about 10 minutes, not 30 seconds.

The point i was making was that if you don’t have time to say the whole chaplet (sadly not everyone has your luxury, and I’m assuming you meant at 3:00pm) then take a “brief moment” to at least to say the prayer as it is short
 
I love the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
But I wonder if we are supposed to meditate on the Passion while saying it, or concentrate on imploring the Father for mercy? Sometimes I feel that I don’t offer the Chaplet as worthily as I could.

Personally I meditate on the Passion … I don’t think there’s really an unworthy way of offering it 🙂

Hey missy, how are you? Do we have EWTN on radio? If so on what channel? I have only JUST found a Christian radio on FM (it doesnt have prayers on there, but it plays decent non sexual music) and has advertisments and notices for ALL christians!
 
Have any of you heard the “Chaplet of Divine Mercy in Song” from the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy? What do you think of it? I think it is beautifully done… Sometimes when I am busy and am preoccupied I will play the CD as background
music… other times it is a useful aid for me in terms of meditation on Christ’s Passion. I would love to hear your opions
 
Also…
Personally, I found it difficult to meditate on Christ’s Sorrowful Passion until I saw “The Passion of the Christ”, by Mel Gibson. The movie enabled me to visualize in a more explicit way what Christ endured… I’m probably off topic here but had to share… Thanks! 🙂
